The conference showcases the best pedagogical practice and research in higher education today. Sessions address disciplinary and interdisciplinary instructional strategies, outcomes, and research. Each year we welcome over 500 faculty and instructors in Higher Education dedicated to teaching excellence. 

Pre-Conference Workshops

Wednesday, January 30

Pre-Conference Workshops provide participants with the opportunity to develop new skills, learn new ideas, network with colleages, and create new approaches to teaching and learning. This year CHEP pre-conference workshops feature four authors and leaders in the field of teaching and learning:

  1. Kathleen Gabriel, author of Creating the Path to Success in the Classroom: Teaching to Close the Graduation Gap for Minority, First-Generation, and Academically Unprepared Students
  2. Eddie Watson, co-author of Teaching Naked Techniques: A Practical Guide to Designing Better Classes
  3. Phillis Blumberg, author of Developing Learner-Centered Teaching: A Practical Guide for Faculty
  4. Paul Hanstedt, author of Creating Wicked Students: Designing Courses for a Complex World
